August 31 – September 03, 10:00-14:00,
the Program I− AM− HERE− by Kineret Haya Max in frame of the School of Performance 2019.
Each of the essence − I, Am, Here is a container of circumstances. The inherent electricity of performance art has a lot to do with the constantly changing reality. I ask «what is now?» and that is what mobilizes me.
The assumption of «I», «Am» and «Here» as three encores, which can be grasped separately, invites us to a gradual process towards a performance work.
We will unwrap and observe each of them, collecting as much information about these three parts to enrich our work. The workshop will combine group and individual mode of work.
Kineret Haya Max
Born lives and work in Israel, 1981
Max is a Performance-art artist.
Her works are being shown on a wide range of platforms between postmodern theatre stages and Museums of fine art.
Her works, although very physically engaging and often feisty, attempts to go beyond the presence of the body or the expression of the self. Instead, they introduce performance as a process, as a junction of actions and interactions within a public situation. She often uses the body, presence and the poetics of the encounter between the artist and the audience as an artwork that has the potential to stands for itself.
Since 2017 Max is leading the annual performance art workshop of the performance art platform in Tel-Aviv. She is also a lecturer at the Musrara Academy of art and society in Jerusalem, and teaches in variety of art programs in Israel and aboard.
